Readings for April 6, Easter Friday

First Reading:  Inspired laymen vs corrupt clergy

Psalm:  "Not doomed to die" ....still celebrating resurrection of Jesus 

Gospel:  Men did not believe women....and did not believe other men

Reflection:  Not just the religious leaders didn't believe Jesus had risen from the dead.
Jesus' own apostles didn't believe either!  Jesus had to appear personally to the apostles before they believed (..although John had started to believe...). If Jesus had appeared personally to the religious leaders, they also would have believed....as in fact happened to one leader named Saul!  Sometimes God has to "hit us over the head" with facts before we admit the truth
Prayer  Jesus, Risen Lord, please help us more readily and more deeply 
believe in your Resurrection
