Reflection - Prayer
May 13, 2013
In this week before Pentecost, let's use the daily Mass readings, focusing on the Holy Spirit
Readings for the Monday after Ascension
Reflection: Today's first reading records how something special happened when Paul put his hands on people (usually on their heads or shoulders?) to pray for them at Baptism/Confirmation: they began to speak in tongues and to prophecy. Usually when a priest or bishop prays for people at Baptism/Confirmation they experience a great feeling of peace and joy ....but no tongues or prophecy. Should we expect anything more?
And notice "fire" in responsorial psalm: When we hear "fire" let's think of Holy Spirit
Prayer: Dear
Jesus, please let Baptism and Confirmation bring all the blessings you want
brought. Send the power of your Holy Spirit upon us that we may be better
people, better Christians
