Readings for the Solmnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
1st Reading: God will be a good shepherd who shows special care for the lost, the stray, the wounded and the weak
Responsorial Psalm: The Lord is our shepherd
2nd Reading: Jesus died for us when we were helpless and sinful
Gospel: God's concern for us is like that of a shepherd concerned about even one missing sheep
Reflection:
No mention of Jesus' heart in the above
readings, just mention of love and concern - especially for the weak -
which is in fact a description of Jesus' heart, a heart full of love and concern
Prayer:
Jesus, please help us understand more
clearly the love your heart has for us.
May more awareness of your love for us, cause us to show more love to others
