Readings for the Feast of St Barnabas
1st Reading: Barnabas chosen by the Holy Spirit
Responsorial Psalm: Barnabas preached the Gospel in many nations
Gospel: Jesus' first missionary instruction for his disciples
Reflection:
After Paul's conversion, many Christians
were afraid of him ....couldn't believe he'd been converted.
It was Barnabas who helped Paul break the ice....it was Barnabas who introduced
Paul to the apostles....Barnabas who first saw the goodness in Paul. Barnabas is
the sort of person who is willing to give people a second chance, let them make
a fresh start
Prayer:
Jesus, please help me see the goodness in
other people. Help me be like Barnabas, willing to give people a second chance
