  Reading:  Exodus 2

God said to Moses:

"Build me a sacred tent so that I may live among the people.

Let everyone follow the promptings of their heart
in making contributions for the building of the temple.

Make a sacred chest (ark) to hold
the stone tablets on which are the Ten Commandments,
Aaron's rod and some manna.

Also make a table for the bread of offering,
and a golden lamp-stand."

Reflection:
In today's world of poor people, St John Chrysostom's words are a good guide for liturgical decorations:
What is the use of loading Christ’s table with gold cups while he himself is starving? Feed the hungry and then if you have any money left over, spend it on the altar table  (Quoted by Pope Benedict XVI here)

Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for churches
and other special places for prayer

Reading: Psalm 86

Turn your ear, O Lord, and give answer
for I am poor and needy.

O Lord, you are good and forgiving,
full of
love to all who call to you.

All the nations shall come to adore you
and glorify your name, O Lord,
you who alone are God.

Show me, Lord, your way, and guide my heart
so that I may walk in your truth.

I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart
for your
love to me has been great.

O give your strength to your servant
and save your handmaid's son.

Reflection:
This psalm twice mentions God's love.  Gratitude for God's love grows as we get older, just like gratitude for our parents' love.
As we get older and our prayer becomes simpler.... it often boils down to "thank you Lord for your love".
DV these words will be in our hearts and on our lips at the end of our lives

Prayer: Thank you Lord for your love

Reading:  Philippians 4

I want you to be happy, always happy in the Lord.
Let your tolerance be evident to everyone

If there is anything you need, with prayer and thanksgiving ask God for it

Fill your minds with everything that is true, everything that is noble, everything that is good and pure, everything that is worthwhile. Then the God of peace will be with you

 Reflection:
We have to choose daily how much, if any, "junk" food we will eat.
We also have to decide daily how much, if any, "junk" ideas we will give time to.

Prayer:
Jesus, please fill my mind with good things

Reading:  Luke 8

Jesus and his disciples got into a boat to cross the lake

Jesus was so tired that he went to sleep in the boat.
Then a sudden storm caused big waves to lash the boat

Jesus' friends woke him up and said
"Master,  we are sinking".

Jesus  ordered the wind and sea to be calm.
Straight away the wind and sea were calm.

The disciples said to each other
"Who is this? Even the wind and sea obey him."

Reflection:
This great image
(thank you Chris McDonnell!)

Prayer:
Jesus, please calm the storms in my life
