  Reading:  Exodus 26, 27

God said to Moses:
"Make a cover for the sacred tent.
Make the cover's  support frames of acacia wood.

Make a veil of purple, violet and red
behind which to put the sacred chest.

Make an altar out of acacia wood.
Make altar vessels  out of bronze.

Make a sacred courtyard to go around the tent.

Place a sacred flame outside the veil
and keep the flame burning from night till morning."

Reflection:
Special places of worship can be found in all nations, all relgions.
Worship of the Creator is in our DNA

Prayer:
Dear God, please protect all churches and other special places for prayer

Reading: Psalm 87

On the holy mountain is Jerusalem, the Lord's cherished city.
Of you are told glorious things, O city of God.

All nations are called to serve and love the Lord.
And Jerusalem shall be called their spiritual mother,
for all shall be her children.
In Jerusalem everyone will be welcome and find a home.

Reflection:
Jerusalem is a home to Jews, Christians and Muslims - the three great traditions descended from Abraham.
But throughout history there has been conflict/persecution/ among the three "cousins".
Sometimes peace breaks out, as in Spain when Muslims and Jews lived peacefully for a long period. As in the southern Philippines where Christians and Muslims lived peacefully for decades (until extremists from the Middle East arrived).
Jerusalem is the most sacred city in the world. What a goldmine Jerusalem could be for tourism if only there was more peace. Maybe someday there can be a Middle East Union, like the European Union, with its capital Jerusalem "the city of peace", and its Jewish, Muslim and Christian members living in harmony. An economic as well as a spiritual capital...promoting policies of justice and peace and compassion in the Middle East and throughout the world. A great book on this theme:
Joshua in the Holy Land (see the comment by Norma McAfee:
this book "exemplifies ways that we could all work together for peace")

Prayer: Jesus, may Jerusalem be a place of peace and prayer for all peoples

Reading:  Philippians 4

I have learnt how to manage on whatever I have.
I am ready for anything anywhere:
full stomach or empty stomach, poverty or plenty

There is nothing I cannot master
with the help of the One who gives me strength

I thank you my friends for supporting me financially,
especially when I was in great need.

 Reflection:
Paul in these words is thanking his Heavenly and human support teams

Prayer:
Jesus, please bless everyone who has helped me
in any way since the day I was born

Reading:  Luke 8

A prayer hall official came to Jesus and urgently asked him to go to his house, where his 12 year old daughter was dying

As Jesus and his friends were following the official to his home,
a woman who had a hemorrhage for 12 years came up behind Jesus and touched his clothing.  Her bleeding stopped at that moment

Jesus knew what  had happened  and said to her
"My daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace"

Before  Jesus arrived at the official's house, a messenger arrived and said to the official " Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Master any more"

Jesus heard these words and said to the official "Do not be afraid. Have faith, and she will be ok"

At the house Jesus allowed only Peter, James, John and the girl's parents to go with him inside

To the mourners Jesus said "Stop crying. She is not dead, but asleep".  They laughed at him, since they knew she was dead

Jesus took the little girl by the hand and called to her "Child, get up".  Her spirit returned and she got up at once

Reflection:
When people laughed at him or criticised him, Jesus didn't go off in a huff, but kept on doing what he was in the process of doing

Prayer:
Jesus, please increase my faith in your power to heal sick people and raise the dead ....and don't let me be discouraged by ridicule and criticism
