  Reading:  Exodus 30

God said to Moses:

"Every morning offer one lamb as a sacrifice for the people.

Every evening offer another lamb as a sacrifice for the people.

I will meet the people of Israel
in the place consecrated to my glory.

I will remain with the people of Israel and be their God.
They will know that it is I who brought them out of Egypt."

Reflection:
God is everywhere. We can talk to God anywhere, any time.
But places of prayer, churches are where God is present in a special way,
and where, for many people, praying to God is easier than elsewhere

Prayer:
Dear God, please increase my love for places of prayer

Reading: Psalm 89

I will sing for ever of your love, O Lord.
Of this I am sure, that your love lasts for ever.

The heavens proclaim your wonders, O Lord.
The heavens are yours, the world is yours.

Blessed the people who find joy in you,
who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face.

Reflection:
As we admire the beauty of the universe,
we cannot but help thinking of the Creator,
just like a beautiful book/film/song makes us think of the author/actor/writer

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for our beautiful universe

Reading:  Colossians  1

I pray that you will continue to grow in your Christian life,
a life full of good deeds

Never give in when trials come, but bravely, even joyfully,
carry your cross each day

Keep on thanking the Father who has rescued us from the power of darkness, and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins

 Reflection:
"Trials" for people who read St Paul's letters while he was alive meant "persecution for being a Christian".  In many parts of the world today, people are being persecuted and killed for being Christians

Prayer:
Father, please protect persecuted Christians

Reading:  Luke 9

Once after Jesus had been healing and teaching all afternoon,  his disciples said to him "It's getting late and the people need to go and eat".

Jesus answered "They don't need to go. You feed them".
The disciples replied "We have only 5 loaves and 2 fish".

Jesus got the people to sit on the grass.
There were about 20,000 of them.
Then he blessed the loaves and fish.

He handed the loaves and fish to his disciples.
His disciples gave them to the crowd.

Everyone had plenty to eat.
They even had 12 baskets of leftovers.

Reflection:
When confronted with a big number of people needing help, the best thing is to help a few of them ....and ask the Lord's blessing ....and soon you'll be helping more and more of them. The 5+2 = 20,000" principle

Prayer:
Jesus, please bless our little efforts to help a few of this world's poor people
