  Reading:  Deuteronomy 2-3-4

Moses continued his talk to the Israelites:

"God has been with us these 40 years,
watching over us and providing for us.

God gave us many victories
and continually told us not to be afraid of any enemies.

So now, Israel, do not forget God's goodness and help and laws.

Do not forget the things your eyes have seen.
Make sure to tell these things to your children's children.

God has brought you out of Egypt to be his special people.

If you seek God with all your heart and soul
you will find him.

Understand this today, therefore, and take it to heart:
The Lord is God indeed, in heaven above as on earth below,
he and no other.

Keep his laws and commandments as I give them to you today,
so that you and your children may prosper and live long
in the land that the Lord your God gives you forever
."

Reflection:
Gratitude, long-term gratitude, to parents/relatives/teachers needs cultivating ....as does gratitude to God

Prayer:  Lord, please give me a grateful heart

Reading: Psalm 138

I thank you, Lord, with all my heart.
You have heard the words of my mouth.

With the angels I will bless you.
I will adore you in your holy temple.

I thank you for your faithfulness and love
which are far above what we can understand.

On the day I called you answered.
You increased the strength of my soul.

All earth's kings shall thank you
when they hear the words of your mouth.

They shall sing of the Lord's ways:
"How great is the glory of the Lord!"

Though I walk in the midst of affliction
you give me life and frustrate my foes.

Your love, O Lord, is eternal.
Do not abandon us whom you have made.

Reflection:
As we grow older, we become more aware of, and thankful for, the love of our parents when we were young.
As we grow older, we likewise become more aware of, and thankful for, the love of God right through our lives

Prayer: Lord, when we remember how much you love us and help us, every day of the year is a Thanksgiving Day

Reading:  2 Timothy 4

As for me, my life of service to the Lord is nearly over.
I have fought the good fight to the end.
I have run the race to the finish. I have kept the faith

The Lord will soon give me the best of all prizes: eternal life in heaven. He will give it not only to me, but to everyone who has loved him sincerely in this life

Reflection:
YouTube: Till the end of my days, I will bless your name

Prayer:
Jesus, help me keep running to the finish line

Reading:  Luke 23

Pilate said to the religious leaders and to the people "You brought this man before me as a political agitator. Neither Herod nor I have found a case against the man. He has done nothing deserving death. I shall have him flogged and then let him go"

But the leaders and people screamed out "Away with him. Crucify him!".   Pilate asked "Why? What harm has he done?"
They kept shouting "Crucify him! Crucify him!"

Pilate then gave in to them and handed Jesus over for crucifixion

Reflection:
All his life, Jesus knew this moment was coming. Maybe it often kept him awake at night.

Prayer: Jesus, how great your mental suffering must have been as the crowd shouted for your death
