O Holy Spirit, may these passages give us hope, wisdom, compassion, courage and peace for our daily life           Chinese text

Reading:  Joshua 22

The campaign to subdue the whole land had taken a long time.
Joshua especially thanked the tribes from across the Jordan
for their help.

These tribes - Reuben, Gad and Manasseh - had been
given land on the Eastern side of the Jordan, 
but still helped in the campaign to control the Western side.

Joshua said to them:
"Despite the fact that the campaign has lasted so long,
you have loyally helped your brothers.

Keep on loving the Lord your God, following his paths.
Be loyal to him and serve him with all your heart."

Reflection: 
Many companies now have "loyalty" programs.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, please help me to be loyal 
- to you, to my family and to my country

Reading: Psalm 33

Ring out your joy to the Lord, all good people,
for praise is fitting for loyal (!) hearts.

For the Lord loves justice and right;
he fills the earth with his love.

By his word the heavens were made,
he spoke and the universe came into being.

They are happy, whose God is the Lord,
he is the source of all true  joy.

May your love be upon us, O Lord,
since we place all our trust in you.

Reflection:
Not just the earth is filled with God's love. The whole universe is filled with his love.
This is what people who have had near death experiences say:
love is the cement, the basic building block, the basic principle, the centre, of the whole universe  ....and ....everyone is loved by the God of love...who is LOVE!
Which is why Teilhard de Chardin wrote:
The most telling and profound way of describing the evolution of the universe would undoubtedly be to trace the evolution of love

Prayer: Lord, please help us notice your love everywhere
- flowers, birds, music, sun, moon, starts, ocean, mountains,
smiles, acts of kindness

Reading:  One Peter 1

Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ, sends greetings to the believers living among foreigners

You were chosen by God the Father. You were made holy by the Spirit. 
You are obedient to Jesus Christ and are sprinkled with his blood

Grace and peace be with you more and more

Reflection: 
A Trinitarian formula: Father, Spirit, Jesus. The God whose love fills the universe is three Persons in one nature.  People who don't believe in the Trinity try to edit the above words.
e.g. This Jehovah Witness Bible uses "spirit" instead of "Spirit"

Prayer:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit - thank you for life and faith

Reading:  John 7

Jesus now stayed in Galilee. He could not stay in Judea because the religious leaders wanted to kill him

Not even his brothers believed in him

In Jerusalem, no one spoke about him openly, for fear of the religious leaders

Prayer: Jesus, people were scared to talk about you, your brothers didn't believe in you, and the leaders wanted to kill you. How small my  problems are compared with yours
