Reading:  Two Samuel 6

David and 30,000 men went to Baalah (Kiriath-jearim)
to bring the Sacred Chest to Jerusalem.

David and the people danced before the Sacred Chest
and sang loudly to the accompaniment of much music.

After the Sacred Chest entered Jerusalem
David blessed the people in the name of the Lord.

Reflection:
Being in God's special presence made David happy.
David was a happy liturgical leader.

Prayer:
Dear God, please help us  praise you with joy,
as David did

Reading:  Psalm 100

Cry out with joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing for joy.

Know that he, the Lord, is God. He made us, we belong to him.
We are his people, the sheep of his flock.

Go within his gates, giving thanks.
Enter his temple with songs of praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.

Indeed, how good is the Lord,
eternal his merciful love.
He is faithful from age to age.

Reflection:
A stirring rendition of this psalm is The Old 100th
 - as in this famous video of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth

Prayer:  Dear Lord, please help us to serve you with gladness,
even in - especially in - times of difficulty

Reading:  Revelation 7

I saw a huge number, impossible to count, of people from every nation, race, and language

They were standing in front of the throne, with palms in their hands.
They shouted
: "Victory to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb"

One of the elders told me who these people are:
"These are the people who have been through the great persecution.
They now serve God day and night in his sanctuary. The Lamb is their Shepherd. He leads them to springs of living water. God has wiped away all tears from their eyes"

Reflection:
People who think that only their group/church/nation is going to get to Heaven are in for one heck of a shock

Prayer: Jesus, please help all nations and races live together in harmony

Reading:  Matthew 7

Jesus said to the people:

Beware of bad leaders.
A sure way to know if someone is good or bad:
are their actions good or bad?

If you put my words into practice,
you are like someone who builds his house on rock.

If you ignore my words,
you are like someone who builds his house on sand.

Reflection:
Maybe the basic problem in today's world: corrupt leaders, leaders who allow corruption, leaders who don't care about their people

Prayer:
Jesus, please give the world better leaders ....leaders who put your words into practice
