O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today. 
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, courage and peace for my daily life 

God's words through Moses:

"Every seventh year your land is to have a rest,
a sabbath for the Lord.

Every fifty years will be a Year of Jubilee:
no sowing, no harvesting, a time for freeing slaves".

Dear God, please help us understand and keep your word

I call to the  Lord in the hour of my distress:
"Lord save me from people who speak with lying lips".

Long enough have I been dwelling with those who hate peace.
I am for peace, but they are for fighting.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains.
From where shall come my help?

My help shall come from the Lord
who made heaven and earth.

The Lord is our guard and our shade.
Day and night we shall not be afraid.

The Lord will guard our going and coming
both now and forever.

Lord, please protect us from danger, day and night

Through one man, Adam, the virus of sin entered the world,
and sin infected everyone with death

Through one man, Jesus, the divine anti-virus of grace entered the world, and brought the gift of eternal life
to everyone who allows it to be installed in their heart

The divine anti-virus of grace  is more powerful than any sin virus

Jesus, please download and install in my heart
your anti-virus program of grace

Jesus and the fishermen went to the town of Capernaum.
On the Sabbath Jesus began to teach in the local  prayer hall.

The listeners were deeply impressed by Jesus' teaching.
Unlike the religious leaders, Jesus taught with authority.

That very day in the prayer hall there was a man possessed by an evil spirit.  The spirit shouted out
"Have you come to destroy me, Jesus of Nazareth?
I know who you are: the Holy One of God."

Jesus said strongly "Be quiet! Come out of him!"
The evil spirit threw the man on the ground
and with a loud cry went out of him.

The people in the prayer hall were amazed.
They said "Here is a teaching which has authority.
Even evil spirits obey him."

Jesus' reputation quickly spread throughout the whole district.

Jesus, Holy One of God, please protect my family from evil
