O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today. 
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, courage and peace for my daily life 

Moses continued his speech to the people:

"Listen Israel. You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.

Let these words I urge on you today
be written on your heart.

You shall repeat them to your children and say them
when you are resting in your house or going for a walk,
when you are lying down and when you get up.

You shall fasten them on your hand as a sign
and on your forehead as a circlet.

You shall write them on the doorposts of your house
and on your gates."

Dear Lord, please help us to love you with all our hearts

At the end of this day I praise you, Lord, for all your love and help.

O people of the world, how long will you close your hearts God?
How long you will keep on chasing false goals?

Lord, you have put into my heart a joy that cannot be obtained by big meals and plenty of wine.

I will lie day in peace and sleep comes at once,
for you, Lord, make me dwell in safety and peace

Thank you, Lord, for your love and help right through today

Get rid of all evil and wickedness from your life. 
Replace them with sincerity and truth

People who do wrong will not inherit the kingdom of God: 
people of immoral lives, idolaters, adulterers, catamites, sodomites, thieves, usurers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers

Some of you were like that once,
but now you have been washed clean and sanctified by Jesus Christ and his Spirit

Jesus, help me avoid doing bad things. Help me do more good things

One day Jesus took his disciples Peter, James and John
up a high mountain.

On the mountain Jesus' whole appearance changed.
His face shone like the sun. His clothes were as white as snow.

Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with him. 
Peter said to Jesus "Lord, how good it is for us to be here!"

Then a bright cloud covered them with its shadow.
From the cloud came a voice:
"This is my Son, the Beloved. Listen to him."

The disciples bowed to the ground.
When they got up, they saw only Jesus in his normal appearance.
