Deuteronomy 26

Moses' teaching:

"When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you,
you must take the first-fruits of your produce
to the priest then in office and say

'Today I declare to the Lord my God
that I have come to the land
the Lord swore to our fathers he would give us
.'

After the priest receives your offering, you must declare:

'My father was a wandering Aramaean.
He went down to Egypt to find refuge there, few in number.

But then he became a nation, great and strong.

The Egyptians ill-treated us, they gave us no peace
and inflicted harsh slavery on us.

But we called on the Lord our God who heard our voice
and saw our misery, toil and oppression.

The Lord our God then brought us out of Egypt
with mighty hand and outstretched arm, with signs and wonders.

He brought us here and gave us this land,
a land where milk and honey flow.

So I now bring the first-fruits of my produce
that you, Lord, have given me'.

You are then to share these gifts with your household
and with the Levite and stranger who live among you
."

Dear Lord, help me to show  gratitude  for all your gifts,
by sharing what I have with those less fortunate than I

Psalm 22

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
I call to you for help, but day and night you give no reply.

I am a worm and not a man.
Everyone who sees me makes fun of me.

They taunt  me: "He trusted in the Lord, why doesn't the Lord help him?"

Like water I am poured out, my bones no longer connected.
My throat is parched, my tongue sticks to my jaws.

Many evil people attack me.
They make holes in my hands and my feet.
They await my death.

They divide my clothing among them,
they throw a dice for my robe.

Yet I know Lord, that  you are good and holy.
I know how you heard the cries of our ancestors and you helped them.

It was you who took me from the womb
and entrusted me to my mother's breast.

To you I was committed from my birth,
from my mother's womb you have been my God.

Lord, I trust in you even now.
I trust you will not scorn my prayer.

Even now I praise you as my Creator.
May all the nations know and worship you.

Lord, please help people who are in big trouble right now,
especially people whose lives are in danger

I Corinthians 15

When this mortal nature has put on immortality,
then the words of Scripture will come true:
"Death has been defeated. Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?"

Never give up, dear friends, never admit defeat.
Keep on working at the Lord's work always.
Know that, in the Lord, no work is in vain

Jesus, please give me more faith  to "keep going"

Mark 11

When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, he went to the Temple.
In the Temple there were money changers
, and people selling pigeons

Jesus tipped over their tables and drove them out of the Temple.

He said to them "My house is a house of prayer for all the peoples of the world,
but you have turned it into a place for robbery"

Jesus, protect  all places of prayer from corruption
