O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today. 
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, courage and peace for my daily life 

Moses said to the people:

"I am 120 years old and can no longer come and go as I will.
The Lord has told me I will not cross the Jordan."

Moses then said to Joshua in the presence of all the people:

"Be strong, stand firm. you are going with this people
into the land promised by the Lord.

The Lord himself will lead you; he will be with you;
he will not fail you or desert you.

Have no fear; do not be disheartened by anything."

Dear Lord, please help me remember that you are with me every day.
   Please don't let anything or anyone dishearten me

The Lord is my light and my help, whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life, before whom shall I shrink? 
Though an army encamp against me, even then would I trust.

There is one thing I ask of the Lord, for this I long:
to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.

It is your face, O Lord, that I seek. Hide not your face.
I am sure I will see your goodness in the land of the living.

Hope in the Lord, hold firm and take heart. Hope in the Lord!

Lord, you are my light and my help. I will always praise you.

The Son of God, Christ Jesus,
was not sometimes "Yes" and sometimes "No" in his words and actions.
He was always crystal clear "Yes" - you knew exactly where he stood on every issue

That is why it is "through him" that we pray and then answer "Amen" (= "yes")

Jesus, help me be a committed "Yes" person 
 -  not someone who "sits on the fence" about the important issues of life

Jesus sat down in the Temple area
and noticed people putting money into a donation box to help the poor

Many rich people put in a lot of money.
A poor widow put in two small coins

Jesus said to his disciples  "That poor widow has donated more than all the other people,
for they put in money they had left over, but she  put in the only money she had"

Jesus, please give make me more generous in helping poor people
