Deuteronomy 33, 34

Before Moses died, he blessed  the twelve tribes of Israel.

Moses then went up Mount Nebo, opposite Jericho,
where the Lord showed him the whole land
that the Israelites would possess.

Moses was buried in the land of Moab.

After the people mourned Moses for 30 days,
Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom,
since Moses had laid his hands on him.

From that time there has never been a prophet like Moses,
the man who knew the Lord face to face.

Dear God, thank you for the life of Moses.
May civic and church leaders be more like him,
filled with love for you and for the people

Psalms 29, 30

The Lord gives us strength, the Lord blesses us with peace.

Thank you, Lord, for so often helping and healing me.
I cried to you when sickness surrounded me, and you healed me.

You  changed my mourning into dancing.
So I will thank you always.

Thank you, Lord, for all the times you have healed me

2 Corinthians 5

The love of Christ is like a tsunami.
It overwhelms us and sweeps us away
when we remember how Jesus died for everyone

God, through Christ, has repaired his friendship with humanity.
We must spread the news of this reconciliation

"And when I think, that God his Son not sparing,
sent him to die, I scarce can take it in"

- from the song "How Great Thou Art"

Mark 14

Two days before the Passover festival,
the religious leaders kept looking for a way to arrest Jesus and have him put to death

During these days Jesus had a meal at the home of Simon the leper.
At the meal, a woman put expensive burial oil on Jesus' head.
The woman understood  that Jesus was soon to die

One of Jesus' 12 apostles, Judas Iscariot,
went to the religious leaders and offered to help them arrest Jesus at a convenient time

The leaders promised to give Judas money.
Judas looked for an opportunity to arrange the arrest

Jesus,  forgive me for the times
when I have not been faithful  to you and your teaching
