O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today. 
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, courage and peace for my daily life 

After David settled into his palace and the land enjoyed peace,
David thought about building a temple for the Lord.

Then through the prophet Nathan the Lord told David:

" I will establish your dynasty for ever.
But it will be your son, not yourself,
who will build a temple for me."

David praised God:

"Who am I, Lord, and what is my House,
that you have helped me so much
and promised me so much?

May my House continue in your presence for ever.
May you bless my House forever."

Dear God, please bless everyone in my family tree,
past, present and future

I will thank the Lord with all my heart.
Great are the works of the Lord,
to be pondered by all who love him.

His goodness stands firm for ever.
The Lord is compassion and love.

His precepts are for all peoples and all times.
He is to be honored by all nations.

To love and honor the Lord
is the beginning of wisdom.

Dear Lord, please help me to love and honor you every day

You are God's special friends. He loves you.
You should be clothed in sincere compassion, kindness, 
humility, gentleness and patience

Allow for other's weaknesses. 
Forgive each other as soon as a quarrel begins. 
The Lord has forgiven you. You must forgive others

Over all these clothes, to keep them together and to complete them, 
put on love

Jesus,  help me be a better and kinder person

Jesus called the 12 apostles together.
He gave them power and authority to cast out devils and to heal sick people.

He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

So they set out and went from village to village proclaiming the Good News and healing sick people

Jesus,  help me understand how some people have a special gift for healing sick people....and how I can better pray to heal sick people
