Second Samuel 14 & 15

When David had finished his time of mourning for Amnon,
he allowed Absalom to return to Jerusalem.

Only after two years did David agree to meet Absalom.
He met him and pardoned him.

But as time went on Absalom started to plot against  David.
Absalom  gathered enough supporters to overthrow David.

David found out about the plot and fled from Jerusalem.

David was very sad and prayed to God
that someday he could return to Jerusalem.

Dear God, please help  people who are exiled from their homes

Psalm 117

O Praise the Lord, all you nations.
Acclaim him, all you peoples!

Strong is his love for us.
He is faithful for ever.

May all the nations love and praise you, Lord

I Thessalonians 1 & 2

You are a great example to other believers,
since it was from you that the word of the Lord spread to many places

Everyone knows how we planted the Good News in your hearts,
and how you broke with idolatry and became servants of the living God

Let me remind you how we loved and served you,
like loving parents caring for their dear children

Jesus, thank you for the people who nurtured me as a Christian

Luke 9

When the time came for Jesus to finish his life on earth,
he resolutely took the road to Jerusalem

As Jesus and his disciples traveled along, they met a man who said to him
"I will follow you wherever you go".
Jesus replied "Foxes have holes, and birds have nests,
but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head"

Jesus,  give me courage to do what I should do
