O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today. 
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, courage and peace for my daily life 

Solomon's wealth continued to grow.
He acquired a fleet of ships for trading.
He also had a huge force of chariots and horses.

The queen of Sheba heard about Solomon's wisdom
and came to visit him.

Solomon answered all her questions.
None of her questions was too difficult for him.

Dear Lord, please give wisdom to all world leaders

When the Lord delivered Zion from bondage,
it seemed like a dream.

Then was our mouth filled with laughter,
on our lips there were songs.

What marvels the Lord worked for us.
Indeed we were glad.

Those who are sowing in tears
will sing when they reap.

They go out, full of tears, carrying seed for the sowing.
They come back, full of song, carrying their sheaves.

Dear God, please bless all people who are sorrowful as they work

From Paul, Silvanus and Timothy to the Church in Thessalonika:
grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ

We take special pride in you because of your perseverance,
despite persecutions and other troubles you have to face

People who refuse to accept the Good News are facing an eternal penalty: 
to be excluded forever from the presence of the Lord

So we pray that God will help you be the sort of people he wants you to be.
In this way our Lord Jesus Christ will be glorified in you

Jesus,  help me "keep going" when trials come

Jesus said to the religious leaders "You worry so much about cleaning dirty dishes,
but don't care about having a dirty heart full of extortion and wickedness

At meetings and in the market, you like being treated as people of importance.
But in fact you are like unmarked tombs that people walk on without knowing it

You expect ordinary people to observe unreasonable laws,
while you excuse yourselves from  such laws

You don't care about obtaining real wisdom,
and you prevent others from obtaining wisdom"

The leaders were stung by Jesus' words,
and they intensified their efforts to trap him in his speech

Jesus, help religious leaders be sincere people
