O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today. 
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, courage and peace for my daily life 

Some false prophets encouraged the king of Israel
and the king of Judah to go to war.

Micah, a true prophet of the Lord,
warned the kings not to go to war.

The men of Israel and Judah were defeated in the war.
Ahab, the king of Israel, died in the war

Dear Lord, please don't let false prophets deceive the world

O give thanks to the Lord for he is good,
for his great love is without end.

It was his wisdom which made the skies,
for his great love is without end.

It was he who made the sun, moon and stars,
for his great love is without end.

It was he who rescued and protected his people Israel,
for his great love is without end.

He gives food to all living things,
for his great love is without end.

To the God of heaven give thanks,
for his great love is without end.

We praise you, Lord, for your great love is without end

Don't be surprised if some people come up with strange ideas about how to live life.
Satan and his friends are always trying to sow lies and deception in the Lord's field of truth

Have nothing to do with strange ideas like "marriage is forbidden" or "you are not allowed to eat certain foods"

Everything God made is good, and no food is to be rejected, provided grace is said for it.
The word of God and prayer make food holy

Jesus, please help me remember to say a little prayer before I eat

At the leader's house, Jesus noticed how the guests picked the places of honor

He said to them "When someone invites you to a meal, do not choose a seat of honor.
Rather, when you are a guest, make your way to the lowest place and sit there.
Maybe your host will ask you to move to a seat of honor

Everyone who exalts himself, will be humbled. Whoever humbles himself, will be exalted"

Jesus, please help me  choose the lowest place
