O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today.                     
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, compassion, courage and peace for my daily life             Chinese text

When the banquet was over at a late hour,
Judith was alone with Holofernes in his tent.
Holofernes lay drunk on his bed.

After praying to God for strength,
Judith used Holofernes' sword to cut off his head.

She went outside and gave the head to her maid.
Her maid put the head in her  bag.

Judith and her maid then left the camp
as they usually did when they went to pray early in the morning.

They went straight to Bethulia and showed Holofernes' head to the people.

The people were overcome with joy
and praised God for what he had done by the hand of a woman.

Dear God, please give people the courage to confront injustice

I will turn my mind to a parable,
with the harp I will solve a problem.

The problem is: why do bad people prosper and succeed?

The answer: at the end of their lives bad people will have to face death and judgement, 
just like everyone else.

When we are rich, we often lack wisdom.
Wealth blinds our minds and hearts.

Let's not forgot God and his laws.
Let's try to be good and lead good lives

Lord, please help me understand the meaning of life

Wherever you find jealousy and ambition, you find disharmony and evil practices

On the other hand,  wisdom from heaven is good and peaceful and kindly and considerate. 
It is full of compassion, and does good.
There is no trace of partiality or hypocrisy in it 

Jesus,  give me wisdom. Make me peaceful 

Jesus visited a Samaritan town. 
Near a well there, Jesus said to a Samaritan woman "Give me a drink"

He also said to her  "If you drink water from this well, you will get thirsty again.
But if you drink the water that I shall give, you will never be thirsty again.

The water that I shall give will turn into a spring of eternal life inside you"

Jesus, please give me a drink of your eternal life water
 - which is your Holy Spirit
