About this time Haman from the land of Agag was promoted by King Ahasuerus to a top position. All other officials were to bow and prostrate themselves before Haman.

Mordecai refused to bow to Haman. This made Haman very angry.

Haman found out that Mordecai was a Jew.
Haman decided to kill Mordecai and all Jews in the kingdom.

Ahasuerus agreed to Haman's plan
and a decree to this effect was announced:
all Jews were to be killed on the 14th day of the 12th month.

Dear God, please protect poor people from people like Haman

O God, be gracious and bless us
and let your face shine its light upon us.

Let all the peoples praise you, O God.
Let all the peoples praise you.

O sing to the Lord, make music to his name.
Rejoice in the Lord, exult at his presence.

Father of the orphan, defender of the widow,
God provides a shelter for the homeless.

God gives his people strength

May all the peoples of the earth know you and praise you, O God

If one of you is in trouble, pray. If you are happy, sing a psalm

If someone is sick, send for the elders of the church. 
They must anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and pray over him.
The prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up.
If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven

Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another,
and this will heal you

The heartfelt prayer of a good person is very powerful. 
Elijah prayed for rain, and rain came

Jesus, please help sick people have the opportunity
to receive the "Anointing of the Sick"

Jesus said to the religious leaders "My Father goes on working, and so do I.
Whoever refuses honor to the Son, refuses honor to the Father who sent him

The Father judges no one. He has entrusted all judgement to the Son

A time will come  when the dead will leave their graves at the sound of the Son's voice. 
Those who did good, will rise again to life. Those who did evil, will face condemnation".

Jesus, some day you are going to be my judge. On that day may I hear you say
 "I was hungry, and you gave me food etc"  (Matthew 25. 31 - 46)
