O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today.                     
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, compassion, courage and peace for my daily life             Chinese text

On the night between the two banquets, the king could not sleep.
To induce sleep he started reading the history of his kingdom.

He read how some years ago two of his eunuchs planned to assassinate him, 
but the plot was foiled by Mordecai.

The king asked Haman how to honor a man whom the king wished to honor.

Haman thought the king was talking about himself, Haman, 
so he suggested royal clothes, a royal horse and a royal parade.

The king agreed and told Haman to honor Mordecai in this way.
This was a great humiliation for Haman.

And it got even worse for Haman. At the second banquet, 
Esther told the king that she was Jewish and that Haman planned to kill all Jews.

The result: Haman was hanged on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai, 
and the Jews were not only spared annihilation - they were given places of honor in the kingdom.

The Jews praised God for all his help through Mordecai.

Dear God, please stop people like Haman  from committing injustice

O Lord, please bless the king,
that he might serve your people with justice.

May the mountains bring forth peace for the people
and the hills, justice.

The kings of Sheba and Seba bring him gifts.
All nations will serve him.

He will save the poor when they cry for help
and the needy who are helpless.

He will have pity on the weak
and save the lives of the poor.

May every tribe be blessed in him.
May every nation bless his name.

May all the nations know and love you, Lord

Delete rubbish from your minds. Control your thinking.
Trust more in Jesus. Live the way he wants you to live,
not like the way you used to live before you learnt the truth.
Be good and holy

Let your love for each other be real and from the heart

You are born again by the everlasting word of the living God

Never be spiteful, or deceitful, or hypocritical
or envious and critical of each other

Jesus, help me live the way you want me to live

That evening, the disciples got into a boat to cross the sea to Capernaum. 
The wind became strong and the sea became rough

They had rowed about 4km when they saw Jesus walking on the sea, coming towards them

They were frightened, but he said "It is I. Do not be afraid"

He got into the boat, and it quickly arrived at Capernaum

Jesus, help me remember that you are in my boat
