O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today.                     
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, compassion, courage and peace for my daily life             Chinese text

Judas led the people in many successful battles.
He often said that it is easy for a great number of soldiers to be defeated by a few.

"Victory in war does not depend on the size of an army.
It is from heaven that strength comes".

As Judas' fame spread, King Antiochus ordered a huge army to attack Judas.

Dear God, please help us put our trust in you
rather than in anyone or anything else

O God, the nations have invaded your sacred land,
they have profaned your holy temple.
They have made Jerusalem a heap of ruins.

We have become the taunt of our neighbours,
the mockery and scorn of those who surround us.

How long, O Lord, will all this last?
How long will this sorrow keep going?

Do not hold the guilt of our ancestors against us.
If their guilt is somehow influencing our situation now
please give peace and healing to everyone and everything
in our  history.

Let the groans of the prisoners come before you.
Let your strong arm reprieve those condemned to die.

O Lord, our God, help us and save us.
Let your face shine on us and we shall be saved.

Lord, please heal any problems in my family tree

If you are treated unfairly, put up with it for the sake of God

Christ suffered for you and left an example for you to follow.
He had done nothing wrong. He was insulted and tortured,
but did not retaliate

He bore our sins in his own body on the Cross,
so that we might die to sin and live for holiness

Through his wounds you have been healed.
You were like straying sheep,
but now have come back to the shepherd and guardian of your souls

Jesus, please help me put up with difficulties for your sake

The people criticized  Jesus saying "We know his father and mother. 
How can he say he has come down from heaven?"

Jesus replied "I am the bread of life.
If you eat this bread which has come down from heaven, you will live forever

I am the living bread which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever

And the bread that I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world"

Jesus, living bread come down from heaven, please help me understand
 how you give your flesh for the life of the world
