Exodus 37, 38

The skilled workers next made the ark,
then the table for the bread offerings,
then the lamp-stand and the altar of incense.

Next they made the altar of sacrifice,
the bronze basin and the courtyard with its special curtains.

Dear God, please bless all skilled workers

Psalm 107 (prayed by Paul & Co, below, when safe on Malta?)

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His great love is without end.

Let them say this, those the Lord has helped,
people from east and west, north and south.

Some people wandered in the desert,
lost and unable to find their way to safety.

In their hunger and thirst they cried to the Lord for help.
He rescued them and showed them the way to safety.

Let them thank the Lord for his love,
for he fills the hungry with good things.

Some people were prisoners in misery and chains,
living in darkness and gloom.

In their distress they cried to the Lord for help.
He rescued them and restored their freedom.

Let them thank the Lord for his goodness,
for he shatters the iron bars of prisons.

Some people were sick on account of their sins,
unable to eat,  and close to death.

They cried to the Lord in their need.
He healed them and saved them from the grave.

Let them thank the Lord for his love,
for the wonders he does for us.

Some people sailed to the sea in ships
and were caught in terrifying storms.

They cried to the Lord in their need
and he calmed the sea and wind.

Let them thank the Lord for his love,
for the wonders he does for us.

Whoever is wise should meditate on these things
and reflect on the love of the Lord.

Thank you Lord, for your rescuing love

Acts 28

We were on the island of Malta. The local people were really kind to us.
They made us welcome. They lit a huge fire
because the weather was cold and rain was falling.

Paul collected a bundle of sticks and was putting them on the fire,
when a snake bit his hand and held on. The locals expected him to die.
But he just shook the snake into the fire. He was ok

The local Roman governor kindly gave us hospitality for three days.
The governor's father was very sick in bed with fever and dysentery.
He was healed when Paul prayed for him with the laying on of hands.
Word of the healing got around fast,
and soon everyone on the island who was sick, came and got healed

Jesus, please bless the people of Malta

Matthew 27

As Jesus was taken to the place of crucifixion,
a man name Simon, from Cyrene, was made to carry Jesus' cross.

Jesus was then nailed to the cross and hung on the cross.
Two robbers were crucified with him,
one on his right and one on his left.

Above Jesus' head was a sign with the charge against him:
"This is Jesus, the King of the Jews".

People passing by that place made fun of Jesus.
So did the religious leaders. They mocked and taunted him.

Jesus on the Cross,
thank you for suffering so much for the salvation of the world
