Dear Friends
My Dad went home to Heaven in 1972.
Mum in 2005
Their anniversaries are special days, Sep 10
and Oct 4,
days to remember their lives,
look at a few old photos,
listen to a recording of their voices,
wish I'd loved them more while they were here,
and look forward to seeing them in Heaven
Actually, I remember them every day,
not just on their anniversaries.
I say hello to them every morning and good night every evening
...their photos are on my cupboard door....
Good Friday is something the same.
It's sacred, like the actual funeral day of a parent.
A day that the heart doesn't have an appetite for anything else
except going to the funeral
Good Friday.... the only thing that our hearts
deep down want to do
is say "Thank you Jesus"
as we remember his life,
listen to his words,
wish we could love him a bit better,
look forward to seeing him in Heaven
May I recommend the Good Friday items on today's menu
- they help us say "Thank you Jesus"
