Dear Friends
Today is a public holiday in many countries of
the world, for Labor Day.
In Hong Kong, many workers will use the day to stage a protest about the low
minimum wage (HK$28 per hour....that's US$3.60 per hour)
I know also of many workers in HK who will not
be having a holiday today.
They're supposed to have a holiday, but their employers won't give them one.
If they complain to authorities, they soon mightn't have a job
Let's do whatever we can to support better conditions for workers
Maybe sometimes when we find our own job a bit
tough,
we can pray "Carpenter's-son Jesus,
I offer up my job as a prayer to help some poor worker
who's got it a thousand times tougher than I have"
On this 1st of the month,
Jesus please bless
the people of Anhui
(Please join me in praying for one
part of China each day of the month)
My Bible Plan for today = Readings for St Joseph the Worker, on this Workers' Day
Thank you for a prayer
God bless!
