Happy Feast of the Ascension!
May the thought of Heaven
give us more hope for our temporary life on earth
A temporary thought:
since this website began about 6 months ago,
there's been no mention of money
(except maybe a reference to cost of printing Bibles etc)
Today is an exception....because last Friday
at a detention center
I met a man aged about 30, from China,
in detention for a week for the crime of street begging in Hong Kong.
He's got only one leg, but he came to HK to
try to get money
for his family...wife and two children.
No welfare in China.
I asked him "Have you thought about an
artificial leg?"
He replied: "Yes, and I know where to get it...in Guangzhou...
but I can't afford the Y15,000 (US$2,400) to pay for it"
This conversation was generated by me.
He didn't see me and start asking for money.
If anyone would like to help pay for a leg,
I can arrange for someone in China
to make sure the leg is obtained
and money is not used for anything else
Once before, several friends in HK and in
China
helped a young man named Joe.
