Dear Friends
In
yesterday's Blog I mentioned how good news can pick us up,
even (especially!) the news that our lowly football team has beaten a top team
Some
types of good news make life/work worthwhile.
e.g. Family members or guests who heartily and gratefully enjoy a meal you've
cooked
Yesterday
I had some of this worthwhile news:
at Lai Chi Kok Detention Centre, a 40 year old local man
showed me his copy of the Simple Bible: Old Testament (Chinese edition)
...saying how in three days he'd read about 160 pages...
"Couldn't put it down....like a story"
I
asked him if he'd ever read the Bible before...."No, never".
And he had one special page marked to show me.
He said "This is really beautiful. I really like this page"
What was it? Psalm 23 ..."The Lord's my Shepherd"
Feedback
like this makes all the years of work worthwhile.

To
support himself, St Paul used to make tents.
He encouraged other Gospel workers to do some "tent making" to support
themselves.
My tent making these days consists of 6 jobs a week for HK's Ming Pao newspaper:
a written article each Wednesday, with a recording of same
plus the recording of MP's editorial Monday to Friday
