Dear Friends

Two stories from yesterday:

No 1: As I waited for bus 970 yesterday morning to go to Chi Fu for Mass, I noticed another bus pull in....driver was really kind to elderly couple getting on to bus.......driver pressed button to lower height of bus doorway...then waited till they were seated before he got bus going

"What a kind man" I thought.

Then 970 came...I got on last...driver nearly floored me (and my trolley of books)  by putting accelerator flat as soon as I processed by Octopus ticket. Being a seasoned HK bus passenger I was ready for this sort of thing and grabbed safety rail....as I muttered under my breath "You bastxxd"

But on alighting, I  gave driver a wave and smile....and he gave me a lovely smile in return.

As I got off bus I thought "What a nice man"

How fickle are our thoughts!

And ....best idea of course...is to pray for someone who seems to be a bastxxd. Bless don't curse. Not so easy as you find yourself in danger of being spread-eagled in a bus!

No 2: Late yesterday afternoon I went to the Chung King Mansion to get magazines/papers for overseas prisoners (Hindi, Urdu, Nepalese, Indonesian etc)....
"not the sort of place where you'd take your mother-in-law".

Near entrance of Chung King I met two of Mother Teresa's Sisters
...sometimes see them in Yau Ma Tei area, but first time ever to see them in CKM.......they also were there to get items for inmates.
They asked me if I could help them get some Tamil magazines/newspapers. I told them I haven't been able to
get Tamil material for more than a year...but I could give them a Tamil New Testament in the morning.
Then I went upstairs to the kind Indian shop that keeps items for me....and what did they give me?
A handful of Tamil newspapers and magazines!

I quickly went back downstairs.....the sisters were still there talking to someone....and we divided the spoils
...  as one sister said "Divine Providence, Father"
to father who was still shaking his head in amazement!
