Dear Friends

On the eve of the Iraq invasion in 2003, Pope John Paul II lost his temper in a meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair. And the pontiff, by one account, used words and gestures bordering on a diplomatic incident.

John Paul did all he could to stop the Iraq invasion. But he was not supported by enough bishops around the world.
See this article re lack of energy by most Australian bishops

History is now repeating itself. The same people who pushed for an invasion of Iraq (especially the arms trade and the Jewish lobby) are now pushing for a war with Iran.
See item on today's menu:
Congress pushes for war with Iran

The US bishops have made a statement, but they need to do a lot more

This is an issue that concerns everyone on the planet. The Iraq invasion made the world a more dangerous place, not a safer place. Another such invasion will makes things even worse....especially, God forbid, an invasion were to take place during Ramadan. Surely they would not be so stupid.

Let's keep world peace in our prayers. And let's do whatever lobbying we can for peace

On this 22nd of the month, Jesus please bless the people of Zheqiang
(Please join me in praying for one part of China each day of the month)

My Bible Plan for today = The readings for the 16th Sunday of the Year
...readings speak of the need for good leaders, good shepherds,
= leaders who speak up for peace

Thank you for a prayer

God bless!
