Dear Friends

Last night I returned to Hong Kong after two nights in Macau
(see the last two blogs)

For HK people, Macau is a very easy place to visit:
- one hour by fast ferry (..a ferry every 15 minutes!)
- HK I.D. card can be used at Macau immigration electronic gates
(just as in HK....use card + thumb print)
- HK money can be used in Macau (McDonald's even give change in $HK)
- Cantonese is the main language in Macau (as in HK)

During my 27 years in HK, I have rarely been to Macau (maybe 6 times). This was my first time to stay overnight in Macau.
This time I had time for a walk along one of the waterfronts....the one facing China (the city of Zhuhai)....literally the other side of the river

Last year Macau had some 32 million visitors...most of them from the Mainland and HK.  One year 32 million = 2.6 million a month!
Reason? Gambling in the world's No. 1 gambling city

Macau's  24 (?) huge casinos are owned by the same handful of people who own the casinos of Las Vagas. A new casino is said to pay for itself not in 30 years, not in 3 years, but in 3 months! And the damage done to millions of families....one can only guess

Today's editorial in Ming Pao is entitled
Heywood's Murder Case Remains Unclarified
It can be accessed, together with my recording, at this site, from about midday today HK time to late evening HK time

On this 22nd of the month, Jesus please bless the people of Zhejiang
(Please join me in praying for one part of China each day of the month)

My Bible Plan for today = Please join me in using these readings for wisdom about life

Thank you for a prayer

God bless!
