Dear Friends

Over recent weeks I have seen a lady dressed not unlike Mother Teresa's sisters  visiting Lai Chi Kok Detention Centre

Last Friday I had a chance to talk with her. She's from South America, belongs to a Christian group that takes the Bible literally

Group's men wear long tunics, and are not allowed to shave.
Group's women wear long tunics plus a veil

Group believes the prophet Ezekiel was sent to South America to re-teach the 10 Commandments

Group does not have website, but internet has a number of items re the group, including YouTube videos.
In Google, put  "mensaje al pueblo israelita en el peru"

My first thought: another crazy group

My second thought: she visits the prison almost every day, to encourage the Spanish-speaking inmates...she says this is what Jesus wants her to do. She is putting Jesus' words into practice "I was in prison, and you came to see me"

My third thought: very few pastors/priests/ministers are interested in visiting prisons

My fourth thought: nothing crazy about visiting prisons

------

On this 23rd of the month, Jesus please bless the people of Guangxi
(Please join me in praying for one part of China each day of the month)

My Bible Plan for today = The readings for the 25th Sunday of the Year
Two important messages in these readings:
1st reading + responsorial psalm + 1st half of Gospel = message one....carrying the Cross
2nd reading + 2nd half of Gospel  = message two....the trap of wanting to be "No. 1"
Message one = direct opposite of message two

Thank you for a prayer

God bless!
