Today's Gospel story about the rich young man invites us to think about the place of money in our lives....and in the Church
In several of his Joshua novels, Joseph Girzone says how the Church has become a business....meeting times more and more taken up with financial matters.....priests and bishops in the role of business managers
Trust in Providence has been replaced by trust in Provident Funds
A
saying from the famous English Evangelical missionary to China, Hudson Taylor,
comes to mind:
God's work, done in God's way, will never lack God's supplies"
May the Church get out of the business of being a business
