Yesterday
I read a bit more of the book "Frederick" by Mark O'Neill.
Yesterday's pages talked about Japan's use of opium and other drugs to subdue
people in China in the 1930s
"In 1937, areas under Japanese occupation in China accounted for an estimated 90% of world production of opium, as well as a large amount of heroin..." (p.176)
Mind you, it was the British who first introduced opium to China, for trade purposes
Britain and Japan both have a lot to say sorry for
