Dear Friends

All Souls Day today, a public holiday in the Philippines and other countries.

Because of the scandal of Indulgences at the time of Martin Luther,
many Christian groups don't believe in praying for the dead

But in all cultures there are special days for remembering the dead,
for hoping/wishing/praying they are at peace

Whatever mess church leaders make of praying for the dead,
our hearts, our instincts, tell us that it is good to wish the dead
"eternal peace", "eternal rest", "eternal life"....to visit graves on this day, on anniversaries, or at any time

My Bible Plan for today = The readings for All Souls Day.
Let's pray for the Dead today...not just "the souls of the faithful departed"
but "for all the dead" (as in Mass prayer)

Thank you for a prayer

God bless!
