Dear Friends

As the world's problems get worse - poverty, unemployment, bad government, climate change etc - and as the Church's woes increase
 - abuse inquiries, unwillingness to face issues like the situation of divorced people etc - what we can ordinary citizens/Christians do?

For any individual or group that is in trouble for whatever reason,
a tried and true way to recovery is by a renewed love for the Bible

Someday, the sooner the better, we need to make daily Bible reading a top priority

A problem: the ordinary Bible is not so easy to understand

Which is why I've been working these past six years on the Simple Bible project. Hopefully the Simple Bible will help more people access the Scriptures

On-line can be found the whole of the Simple Bible in English,
also the Old Testament in Chinese

This is the version we use on Sunday nights at weekly gathering for ex-inmates...and they are genuinely interested in the Bible sharing

And yesterday I had the joy of collecting the printer's sample of the Gospels in Chinese, DV to be printed in the coming week or so
....and then DV by the end of next year, the rest of the New Testament in Chinese

------

On this 2nd of the month, Jesus please bless the people of Fujian
(Please join me in praying for one part of China each day of the month)

My Bible Plan for today = The readings for the first Sunday of Advent
Let's use these readings to start preparing for the coming of The Branch at Christmas

Thank you for a prayer

God bless!
