Dear Friends
Over the past few weeks I know of several men from Africa and South America who received long sentences for bringing drugs into Hong Kong
The men, from poor families, were tricked by people who said "you won't get caught...it's easy getting drugs into HK". In fact about 90% of such men are caught on entry. An African or South American passport is like a magnet for customs officers
And then the men make a second big mistake. Despite other inmates warning them not to, they plead innocent and fight their case, even though the evidence of drugs is clearly present
So instead of getting 6-9 years in prison by pleading guilty, they receive 17-21 years for pleading not guilty
Jesus,
please stop people from taking drugs to other countries....and please help
arrested people to admit their guilt and avoid extra long sentences
