Dear Friends
Now
that I'm back at work visiting prisons each day, I'm again seeing many inmates
from the Mainland ...mainly in for overstaying or working without a permit or
entering HK illegally
A very different kettle of fish from other inmates in for drugs/theft etc
Mainland men usually get about 8 months for their offences
Yesterday
in one room alone I shook hands with about 40 Mainland men.
They know me now and are very friendly. If I miss anyone as I go around shaking
hands and wishing them "Jesus bless" or "Happy New Year"
etc, they will come up to me asking for a handshake
This Sunday will be a sad day for them: Lunar New Year. Not being home on LNY for a Chinese person is like not being home for Christmas for people in other cultures
May the above men all be home for LNY 2014, the year of the horse!
Thank you for a prayer
God bless!
