Dear Friends
Hello on the second day of the Lunar New Year - a holiday in HK, China and other places.
It's not the done thing...it's "bad luck"...to mention the D word for the first 15 days of the LNY...but yesterday I was in contact with two families who have just had someone pass away, one a mother, the other a father. Made me say one for all the people who at this happy time of the year are not happy
Last night the usual Sunday night gathering for ex-inmates and other poor people was held outside McDonald's near St Paul's Yau Ma Tei. About 80 special guests enjoyed a Big Mac or whatever. Most of the guests have little or no contact with any family at this family-reunion time of the year. In fact, the Sunday night group is becoming like a family...with special thanks to the team of volunteer "parents" and the kind donors (mainly parishioners from HK Cathedral parish)
Again may I wish everyone a Happy Lunar New Year!
