Dear Friends
I am a "Roman Catholic"
But
the more I see how it is wrong for the Church to be so
European,
the less I like the name "Roman
Catholic".
In
fact, I have rarely called myself a "Roman Catholic".
On immigration forms etc, for "occupation" I have always put
"Catholic priest". I have never put "Roman Catholic priest"
This article describes why we use the term "Roman Catholic"
But
since "Catholic" means "universal...the whole world",
the term "Roman Catholic" is an oxymoron!
Bit like giving your nationality as "I'm a Brisbane Australian", "I'm a London Briton", "I'm a New York American", "I'm a Ottawa Canadian" etc. No need for location adjectives...just the country term is enough
So,
no need for "Roman
Catholic".
Best term is just "Catholic".
That says it "all" !
Thank you for a prayer
God bless!
