Dear Friends
This blog of April 18 described how Bible reading can give us a mental and physical lift
Yesterday
I finished reading, for the second time, A
Vision Betrayed
- The Jesuits in Japan and
China, 1542-1742 by Andrew Ross
Reading
it over the past few weeks has had a similar effect to reading the Bible:
batteries recharged
Not exactly a positive recharging...often a negative one in the sense that one's blood boiled to learn how mistakes of the past caused so much damage to the spreading of the Gospel
Which is one of the main reasons we should love history: it helps us to avoid repeating past mistakes
