Dear Friends
On
a recent prison visit, I spent some time with a Vietnamese inmate who was in an
isolation cell...
= "S.U." (special unit)...which means loss of privileges (like
newspapers, magazines, cigarettes, chocolates etc).
But one thing SU inmates are allowed is religious reading....and the man had his
Vn Bible which I'd left for him in a previous detention centre (also in SU!)
He was reading the Bible each day but not at all familiar with it. So I look at the contents page with him and suggested he read a bit each day from the Old Testament and a bit from the New Testament (...recognized OT and NT as the block letters at top of a list of other items...).
Also
wanted to suggest he read one of the Psalms each day, but I couldn't find Psalms
in the index.
So I used an old trick taught in my novitiate: open your Bible in the
middle, at the half-way of the book, and you'll have the Psalms. ...and it
worked.....I recognized the numbers 105, 106 which could only mean Psalms
Does this work in your Bible?
