Dear Friends
Over the past week there's been a lot of coverage of the Bangladesh building collapse tragedy
Bangladesh is one of the world's poorest countries....and most people are unemployed...which is why people take jobs in dangerous factories
I know a HK inmate from Bangladesh who has illegally entered or illegally remained in Hong Hong many times over the past 16 years....he gets caught, put in detention, sent back, gets another false passport, comes back again
I
asked him: why do you keep doing it?
His answer: It's better than a life of misery in Bangladesh
Bangladesh
a fairly strict Muslim country....not easy for NGO's to help.
