Dear Friends
Hello again from the annual Oblate retreat in Hong Kong
Interesting: the opening talk last Sunday night had the same theme as the opening talk of last year's retreat: religious congregations have three choices: die out, stagnate, or grow
Big problem: no one wants to take the steps necessary to grow....so most groups keep on stagnating till they die
Same
is true of all groups large and small: grow or die.
c.f. Republicans in US.....refused to open up to Hispanics
....now in danger of dying until/unless they take Hispanics on board in their
policies and membership
May
the leadership of Pope Francis give all groups in the Church the courage to take
steps to "go out" and grow,
rather than stay inward looking and die
