Dear Friends
Today's feast of Corpus Christi brings back memories of processions
But the emphasis in 2013 is not on processions
Without neglecting the prayer and praise side, Pope Francis wants the emphasis to be on "feeding the multitude...even if we have only 5 loaves and 2 fish". See his Corpus Christi homily
The pope's call is backed up by this Vatican report on world hunger to the UN
What can we do?
A: live more simply (e.g. US bishops: a non-luxurious setting for this month's meeting)
B:
join some program that helps the poor (e.g. I'm an Oxfam Africa partner)
