How
many birthdays are mentioned in the New Testament?
Three:
Jesus, John the Baptist....and King Herod (on whose birthday John was executed!)
As
we celebrate John's happy birthday today, let's ask how we can be more like
him
in preparing a way for Jesus:
How
can I prepare a way for Jesus
- in my heart?
- in my family?
- in my local area?
- in my workplace?
- in the Church?
1. By committing myself to daily Bible study, reflection and prayer
2. By giving a good example
3. By prudently yet courageously taking a stand for the values of Jesus
4. By prudently yet courageously encouraging others to know and love Jesus
Let's
think about the above as we often sing today:
Prepare ye the way of the
