Dear Friends
As a prison chaplain I was very interested, and saddened, to read the two prison articles on today's menu:
Revolutionary
Mercy and We
Are One Body - both from the US.
Hong Kong prisons are much more humane that prisons in the US,
but in HK as everywhere, more needs to be done for prisoners
Pope
Francis is saying every week, some times several times a week:
"Do more for prisoners"
There's
certainly no rush in HK to be a prison chaplain (except among Evangelicals).
And most HK Catholic clergy who have a prison pass rarely use it
Pope is saying that prison ministry should be a top priority
Jesus
said the same thing....even going so far as to say that if we don't give a dam
about prisoners
we are at risk of finishing up on an death row in an eternal prison
God bless all prisoners ...and all prison chaplains!
