As Christians we should stay informed about this issue - it's going to have a
lasting effect on future generations

Excellent review of the situation. There
has been an amazingly swift shift from the idea of marriage as an institution
dedicated to the family bloodline and nurturing the next generation, to one
primarily focused on the rights and happiness of the adults. This is a
redirection of responsibility and obligation, and there doesn't seem to be any
logical legal obstacle to extending this thinking to lower age unions,
intergenerational unions and to polygamous unions. See the Economist article
