For a while the Church followed the ancient way of thought which said
that the (good) soul was a prisoner trapped in the (evil) body

This way of thought regarded anything to do with the body
(eating, drinking, sleeping, sex) as "unclean"/"evil",
so that the body was something to be despised - "Brother Ass"

Article 14 puts that view in the rubbish bin when it says
"we are not allowed to despise our bodily life.
Rather we are obliged to regard our body as good and honorable
since God created it and will raise it up on the last day.

At the same time we must remember we are more than just a body.
We have a spiritual and immortal soul"

Jesus, please help me treat my body as Brother Honorable
