As we become more aware
that the human race is one big family,
so we must "think big":
"Every social group must take account of the needs and legitimate
aspirations of other groups,
and even of the general welfare of the entire human family"
Big thinking means more awareness of,
and more concern about,
the rights of every human person
to have the basics:
"... food, clothing, and shelter;
the right to choose a state of life freely and to found a family,
the right to education, to employment, to a good reputation, to respect,
to appropriate information, to activity in accord with the upright norm of one's
own conscience, to protection of privacy and rightful freedom even in matters
religious"
Holy Spirit, you whose providence is at work
in our lives,
you who renew the face of the earth,
please open our hearts more widely to the Gospel message
to promote and protect the rights and dignity
of every member of the human family
